About Us

l_ac3b6937d451259675da2105d983c487The Fresno Youth Folklore Society is an organization which caters to the youth of Fresno, California.  The group is dedicated to the preservation of folk arts and culture in the Central Valley.  In order for these traditions to survive, culture must be passed down from one generation to the next.  For this reason, young people are instrumental in maintaining cultural identity.

The Society exists to bring together Fresno’s young artists, musicians, dancers, and performers.  It also seeks to recognize  those Fresnans who continue to pass on folk customs and traditions.

We put on events in the Fresno area, and we also seek to help young Fresnans become more aware of the culture that surrounds them everyday.  The cultural opportunities of this city are limitless, when one simply knows where to look.  We have a thriving local music scene, and talented independent artists.  This organization hopes to bring all of this together in a devoted, energetic community.
